Your wedding should reflect your style, your traditions, and your vision. Our Venue Wedding Package gives you the freedom to create a celebration that's uniquely yours while enjoying one of Northern Nevada's most beautiful and historic wedding venues.

 

To provide the best experience for every event, Cottonwood Cottage offers two complete celebration options:

Custom Venue Package – You arrange your own licensed caterer, food, beverages, and vendors.
All-Inclusive Package – We provide the food and beverages and we coordinate the following services: bartending, DJ, Photography and any other needed event services for your entire celebration.

***With the Custom Venue Package we do not provide individual food service, alcohol service, or bartending as stand-alone options.

Effective July 31, 2026, Cottonwood Cottage is pleased to introduce our new Custom Venue Package for all new reservations. Existing reservations will continue under the package and terms originally selected at the time of booking.

Our Custom Venue Wedding Package is perfect for couples who want the freedom to personalize their wedding while enjoying one of Northern Nevada's most beautiful wedding venues.  Choose your favorite caterer, create your own menu, provide your own beverages, and celebrate surrounded by the charm of Cottonwood Cottage in the heart of historic Genoa.

Included With Every Venue Wedding
Exclusive use of Cottonwood Cottage for up to 8 hours- Enjoy plenty of time for your ceremony, cocktail hour, reception, dancing, and celebrating with family and friends.
 

• Historic Genoa Setting- Celebrate in Nevada's oldest town with breathtaking mountain views, mature trees, and timeless charm.

• Ceremony & Reception Areas- Beautifully landscaped ceremony lawn and reception areas designed to accommodate your entire celebration in one convenient location.

• Bridal Suite- A private space for the bride and bridal party to relax, prepare, and enjoy the day.

• Groom's Lounge- Comfortable accommodations for the groom and groomsmen before the ceremony.

• Tables & Chairs- Quality tables and chairs are included for your ceremony and reception.

• Professional Setup & Teardown- Our team handles the setup and teardown of venue tables and chairs, allowing you to spend more time celebrating and less time working.

• Permanent Restrooms- Enjoy clean, permanent indoor restrooms—no portable restroom rentals required.

• Indoor & Outdoor Spaces- Weather flexibility with both indoor and outdoor gathering areas.

• Parking- Convenient on-site guest parking.

• Vendor Flexibility- Choose your own caterer

• Large lawn area for yard games along with Bocce courts and cornhole boards

• Bring Your Own Beverages-Supply your own beer, wine, and spirits while complying with Douglas County event requirements.

• Preferred Vendor Recommendations- Need help getting started? We're happy to share our trusted list of local caterers, bartenders, DJs, photographers, florists, rental companies, and other wedding professionals.

What's Not Included

To keep your Venue Wedding Package flexible and affordable, the following services are not included:

Day-of wedding coordinator
Wedding planning or planning consultations
Timeline creation and vendor coordination
Food and beverage service
Bartending services
Catering
Event décor and decorating
DJ, photography, florist, or other vendors

This package is designed for couples who want the freedom to plan and coordinate their own wedding or work directly with the professionals they choose.

 

Alcohol Service

Couples choosing our Venue Wedding Package arrange for their own caterer, food, beverages, and bartending in accordance with Douglas County requirements.

To comply with Douglas County requirements:

• The event host must obtain the required Douglas County Temporary Liquor License.

• Proof of the approved permit must be provided before the event. 

 

Event Insurance

 Event liability insurance is required.

 

Our team will guide you through the process and provide the information you need to make obtaining the permit and event insurance simple and stress-free.

Interest-Free Monthly Payments

To make budgeting easier, we offer interest-free monthly payments leading up to your wedding. This allows you to spread the cost over time while securing your wedding date and services.

Vendor Flexibility

If you already have a favorite photographer, florist, baker, or another wedding professional, you may substitute one included vendor service with your preferred vendor.

 

If a vendor is removed from the All-Inclusive Wedding Package, the associated value of that service will be deducted from your package price. Vendor substitutions must be approved in writing at the time of booking.

 

Food and beverage services are exclusive to the All-Inclusive Wedding Package and cannot be substituted.

 

We manage the venue, catering, beverage service, and many of your wedding vendors, allowing you to focus on celebrating with family and friends.
