Wedding Venue Rental
Create your wedding your way. Bring your own approved caterer or food provider, beverages, photographer, DJ, florist, and other vendors, and enjoy exclusive use of Cottonwood Cottage throughout your Reserved Event Window. If alcohol is served, a licensed bartender is required and all applicable Douglas County requirements must be met.

All-Inclusive Wedding
Prefer to have the details handled for you? Our All-Inclusive Wedding experience brings together catering, beverages, desserts, wedding coordination, photography, DJ services, floral design, setup, cleanup, and an experienced event team to create a seamless wedding day.

Effective July 31, 2026, Cottonwood Cottage is pleased to introduce our new Custom Venue Package for all new reservations. Existing reservations will continue under the package and terms originally selected at the time of booking.

Our Custom Venue Wedding Package is perfect for couples who want the freedom to personalize their wedding while enjoying one of Northern Nevada's most beautiful wedding venues. Choose your favorite caterer, create your own menu, provide your own beverages, and celebrate surrounded by the charm of Cottonwood Cottage in the heart of historic Genoa.

Exclusive use of Cottonwood Cottage for up to 8 hours- Enjoy plenty of time for your ceremony, cocktail hour, reception, dancing, and celebrating with family and friends.
Historic Genoa Setting- Celebrate in Nevada's oldest town with breathtaking mountain views, mature trees, and timeless charm.
Ceremony & Reception Areas- Beautifully landscaped ceremony lawn and reception areas designed to accommodate your entire celebration in one convenient location.
Bridal Suite- A private space for the bride and bridal party to relax, prepare, and enjoy the day.

Dedicated Caterer Prep Area

To support outside catering, Cottonwood Cottage provides a Dedicated Caterer Prep Area designed specifically for caterers.

The prep area includes:

Stainless steel preparation tables
Three-compartment sink
Dedicated handwashing sink
Convenient access to the event spaces
Space for coolers, insulated food carriers, and catering equipment

Outside caterers are responsible for providing all food, beverages, refrigeration, serving equipment, and supplies needed to service the event.

To maintain food safety, sanitation, and efficient venue operations, the commercial kitchen, walk-in cooler, freezers, dry storage areas, kitchen equipment, appliances, utensils, and food inventory are reserved exclusively for Cottonwood Cottage operations and are not available for use by outside caterers or event vendors.

What's Not Included

To keep your Venue Wedding Package flexible and affordable, the following services are not included:

Day-of wedding coordinator
Wedding planning or planning consultations
Timeline creation and vendor coordination
Food and beverage service
Bartending services
Catering
Event décor and decorating
DJ, photography, florist, or other vendors

This package is designed for couples who want the freedom to plan and coordinate their own wedding or work directly with the professionals they choose.

Alcohol Service

Couples choosing our Venue Wedding Package arrange for their own caterer, food, beverages, and bartending in accordance with Douglas County requirements.

To comply with Cottonwood Cottage and Douglas County requirements if you provide any alcohol:

The event host must obtain the required Douglas County Temporary Liquor License.
Proof of the approved permit must be provided before the event.
A minimum of one licensed and insured bartender is required and must be approved by Cottonwood Cottage 14 days before event
Event insurance with alcohol service coverage and Cottonwood Cottage named additionally insured

Vendor Flexibility

If you already have a favorite photographer, florist, baker, or another wedding professional, you may substitute one included vendor service with your preferred vendor.

If a vendor is removed from the All-Inclusive Wedding Package, the associated value of that service will be deducted from your package price. Vendor substitutions must be approved in writing at the time of booking.

Food and beverage services are exclusive to the All-Inclusive Wedding Package and cannot be substituted.

We manage the venue, catering, beverage service, and many of your wedding vendors, allowing you to focus on celebrating with family and friends.

Pricing Information

Starting prices are based on the day of the week.
Final pricing may vary based on guest count and Optional Venue Additions.
Your Reserved Event Window follows our First Foot On / Last Foot Off policy. All setup, decorating, deliveries, event activities, vendor breakdown, guest departure, and removal of personal belongings must occur within the Reserved Event Window unless Early Access has been approved.
The final 30 minutes of the Reserved Event Window are reserved for venue closing procedures, guest departures, vendor breakdown, and property cleanup.
A signed Venue Agreement and required Booking Payment are required to reserve your wedding date.
All payments are non-refundable.

Your Reserved Event Window follows our First Foot On / Last Foot Off policy. All setup, decorating, deliveries, event activities, vendor breakdown, guest departure, and removal of personal belongings must occur within the Reserved Event Window unless Early Access has been approved.

We're personally involved in every event and are committed to helping create celebrations that reflect your vision while providing a beautiful, welcoming setting for your guests.

Event Insurance

All events at Cottonwood Cottage require Special Event Liability Insurance. This affordable coverage helps protect you, your guests, and our venue in the unlikely event of an accident.

Reserve Your Event Date

A signed Venue Agreement and required Booking Payment are necessary to reserve your event date.

All payments are non-refundable. Once your reservation is confirmed, Cottonwood Cottage removes your event date from availability and may decline other booking opportunities.
